How to Create an Amazing Accounting or Financial Logo

The logo for your accounting firm is the visual representation of your company.  It’s often the first thing that potential clients interact with and it is your trustmark.  In that light, you want to make sure that your accounting logo sends the right message.  The good news is that with the right tools, almost anyone can create a logo for an accounting or financial firm that will stand the test of time.

The first thing you’ll want to think through is the tone or personality you want your accounting logo to convey.  Considering that you are working in a sensitive area and assisting people in making important financial decisions, an accounting or financial logo should convey the appearance of trust, authority and seriousness.  That doesn’t mean that your logo need be boring – it just means that there are certain logo design elements that you’ll want to steer clear of if you want to be perceived as a financial firm that a client can trust with his or her money.

You’ll also want to make sure you have a solid understanding of basic logo design principles.  Think about where your accounting logo or financial logo will be used.  Most likely, you’ll be using your logo on business cards, letterheads, envelopes, a website, email signature and possibly on an exterior door at your physical location.  To make sure that your accounting logo will look great in all these places, keep your design relatively simple and limit your font and color choices to no more than two.  A simple logo design will translate much easier to different surfaces and you can rest assured that your brand will have a consistent look and feel.

5 Big Business Card Dont’s

With business cards, there are a lot of different ways to get them right.  Unfortunately there are about twice as many ways to get them wrong.  I mean we’ve all seen the glaringly bad business cards.  The ones that are so ugly or boring or just plain wrong that they actually make you think less of the business.  No one wants to be put into that category and absolutely no one wants to lose business because of a bad business card, but it definitely happens.  To help make sure your business card does it’s job, here are the five big don’ts in business card design:

1. Incomplete information

If the purpose of a business card is to build a relationship, as a general rule of thumb, you need to have all your contact information present.  It’s pretty much a non-negotiable these days, but every single business card needs to have the following:

  • Company Name and Logo
  • Your Name
  • Your Title
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Website URL
  • Physical Address
  • Company description or tagline (Optional, but helpful)
  • Social Media profile links (Optional, but helpful)

You’ve got a 3.5 x 2 inch space to get people to remember you and your business and there are some really classy and stylish ways to present all of that key information.  If you do it right, your business card can become a great sales and marketing tool.  Just make sure you cover all your bases and include all the key information about you and your company.

2. Blah design

The look and feel of a business card can be a bit subjective, but for the most part, people tend to agree when something is eye-catching versus totally boring.  Boring business cards can be a huge turn-off to potential clients or buyers, so it’s worth it to take some time and invest in an attractive design from the start.

Going away from a boring business card doesn’t mean that you have to go crazy with color either, but it does mean that you have to put something together that represents your business well.  If your business is best represented by a sleek black and white card, that’s great – just add some personality in with the font choices and design elements.  Anything to help your business card stand out from the crowd.

3. Overcomplicated design

On the flip side, it’s very easy to overdo a design concept when you are working with a really small space.  Don’t over-engineer your business card design to the point that it starts turning people off.  The design needs to help emphasize what your business does and the quality of your work.  It can’t just be design for design’s sake.  A good rule of thumb is if you hand it to someone and they seem overwhelmed or confused, you’ve probably gone too far.

4. Illegible fonts

The funny thing about business cards is that you actually want people to be able to read the information.  I’ve seen so many business cards that choose a font, that while interesting and full of character, is way too hard to read.  If a person has to struggle to get your contact information off your business card, it’s probably going to be a struggle to win their business.

As a general rule of thumb, fonts should be between 7 and 11 pts.  Anything smaller than that is really too small for most people to read without straining their eyes.  Why not make it easy for people to get your information and contact you.

5. Poor quality

This is an area that a lot of people underestimate, but the quality of the paper and printing does make a difference in how your business is perceived.  A nicely designed card printed on flimsy, thin cardstock may make your business seem a little flimsy as well.  Using a heavier card stock for your business card may be a bit more expensive up front, but it will definitely help your business appear stronger, more sturdy and solid.

You also need to consider the print quality.  Make sure to take into consideration the bleed lines when designing your card and always do a test print before committing to a full batch.

In Summary: Your business card can be an incredible marketing tool if done right.  Just stay away from these basic mistakes and you’ll be growing your business in no time!

10 Totally Off-The-Wall Ideas to Boost Your Business

While traditional advertising still has its place, in this day and age, it takes something really unique to put a business on the map and get noticed.  Customers are inundated all day long with sales and marketing messages that one more advertisement is usually just white noise.  The upside is that if you can find a way to interact with customers in a different way, you have a great opportunity to grab their attention and grow your business.  Here are 10 of our best off-the-wall ideas to market your business:

1. Sticker the town

Get some stickers printed up with your logo, website URL, phone number and a catchy slogan or image and put them in places where people aren’t expecting to see anything.  Think about well-trafficked sidewalks, bus stops and windows.  Just use caution when applying the sticker to make sure that it’s in a place that won’t cause damage or be seen as “graffiti”.  You can also do something similar with sidewalk chalk messaging, coupons or flyers.  The key is to show up in a unique way in a place where you are catching your customers off-guard.

2. Crazy business cards

In today’s technologically advanced society, it seems a like business cards would be a thing of the past, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth.  A great business card is an inexpensive piece of marketing that can be handed out to anyone who is interested.  Why wouldn’t you use that opportunity to create something that will get you noticed.  Think unique shapes, bright colors or animal prints.  Anything that is different, clever or unique and will help people remember who you are and what you do.

3. Throw a party

Throwing a party is a great way to build some goodwill in the community and grow a loyal customer base as well.  Think about major events that are going on and what you can do to celebrate (World Cup, Olympics, election night, etc.)  You can also get creative and make your own event like a faux birthday party for an important historical figure in your industry or a National Pirate Day Party.  Tie the party in with some free food, drinks and possibly themed costumes and people will be sure to come.

4. Have a contest

A contest can be a really fun way to get customers involved with your business.  You’ll want to think about relevant themes, but don’t limit yourself.  Things like Ugliest Kitchen, Cutest Pet, and Best Costume (for Halloween or other holiday) can all work well. Make sure you take lots of photos and tie them in with your social media accounts and encourage all participants to share the photos as well.  Having a highly desirable prize will encourage people to participate.

Pro tip: If your prize is big enough (like a kitchen makeover or a dinner every week) and the contest creative enough, your local news might just pick up on the story as well.  Make sure to call your local newspaper, radio and television stations with a story tip.

5. Institute random acts of kindness

This is an idea that will not only help grow your business, but it will help you feel good as well.  Take any opportunity to do something kind and just let people know that it was done by your business.  Things like buying the coffee for the person behind you, helping an elderly person with some yard projects or bringing some tasty baked goods to a local homeless shelter can be great ways to spread some goodwill in your community and foster a sense of goodwill about your business as well.

6. Incentivize social sharing

Social sharing is a great way to get your existing customers to do the marketing for you.  Offer a discount on a purchase if your customers share their experience on any social media site.  Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are logical choices, but every person has their own favorite social network, so try not to limit the ways that people can share.  Just make them show proof of the social share at the time of purchase and thank them with a nice discount.  Word of mouth marketing could likely be the most cost effective and efficient marketing you ever do!

7. Teach people something new

When you run your own business, you are by default an expert in your industry.  If you can find a unique way to share that expertise, you’ll very quickly build up a loyal following.  Think about hosting a Saturday demonstration, hold classes for people to learn about what you do, put together a tip sheet or guide that people can pick up at your business location or just start a blog where you post relevant and useful information.  However you do it, teaching customers something new will help showcase your expertise and you’ll build your reputation as the “go to” source.

8. Partner with local artists

Reach out to the local art community to create something unique and impactful that will attract the attention of potential customers.  Whether it’s showcasing up and coming artists in your store or yarn bombing your local park or having local photographers help create a one-of-a-kind menu for you, working with those in the art community is a great way to showcase your business in a new and beautiful way.

9. Run a scavenger hunt

Scavenger hunts are a tool that will get people in your store or shop in a really fun way.   This can work a number of ways, but however you set it up, the goal should be to get people to interact with your business in a way that they hadn’t thought about before.  One way you could do this is to partner with other local businesses for a larger-scale hunt with multiple locations.  If your store or shop is large enough, this is a great way to get people to take a look at products that might generally be overlooked.  A scavenger hunt can even be run online and will certainly help get people to less trafficked areas of your website.

10. Make your business a daily attraction

Make your business a place that people want to come back to every day and you’ve instantly built yourself a loyal customer base.  If you’re a restaurant, feature a totally new, off the wall dessert or drink every day.  Feature a new pun or quote on your outdoor signage every day.  Have a secret password at a set location that changes every day, which gets customers “in the know” a discount on their purchase.  There are so many ways to do this, but the key is to have fun and be authentic.

Growing a business is hard work, but it doesn’t have to break the bank and it can even be a lot of fun.  Hopefully these ideas will help spark something for you.  Best of luck and happy marketing!

Sports Team Logo Ideas

Sports Team Logo Design

How to Create a Winning Look for your Sports Team Logo

Sports logos are more than just visual representations of your team. Fans of the game wear their team’s logo with pride and to show their love for and allegiance to the team. Players wear them as badges of honor when they hit the court or field.

Because of this, you need a logo that not just represents your sports team but also captures the spirit of the game and resonates with its fans. You can keep it simple but striking or make it bold and colorful. Either way, it has to be memorable, recognizable and identifiable. Make sure it’s timeless too. Jumping on the current color or design trend might not be such a good idea 10 years later (case in point: neon colors).

Want to start on the right track? Here’s a breakdown of some elements than sports organizations need to consider when creating logos.

Think about what you want your team to signify. If it’s strength, then craft a logo that looks bold and powerful. If it’s energy, try to convey motion in your design. If it’s passion, go for vibrant visuals.

Then decide on the type of logo you want. Illustrative logos are particularly popular. With this, you can always showcase the symbol most widely associated with your team: your mascot. This strategy has worked great for the Seattle Seahawks football team, Toronto Blue Jays baseball team and Pittsburgh Penguins ice hockey team. Even if your team isn’t named after an animal, you can feature images of panthers, lions, sharks or other ferocious creatures to reflect your competitive nature. Another approach is to incorporate icons that relate to your sport (e.g., a football for fantasy football, a bat or home base for softball, a bowling ball or pins for bowling, a golf club, ball or tee for golf, a Frisbee for ultimate Frisbee). Or you could take into account your city and reflect that in your choice of graphics, as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Edmonton Oilers did.

If you want to avoid clichés, you can go with abstract logos. Just make sure your design still embodies your team and isn’t difficult to remember or distinguish.

Many have also found typography-based logos to be effective. Just take the initials of the team and creatively style and arrange the letters to come up with an interesting design. If your soccer team has a long history, serif fonts such as Times New Roman and Baskerville denote respect and tradition. If you volleyball team is known to be fierce, strong and modern sans serif typefaces are a suitable option.

Don’t forget about the role of colors too. You can highlight certain colors to evoke certain feelings such as yellow for confidence and dynamism, red for strength and masculinity, and black for control and excellence.

Together, all these aspects can help you achieve a winning logo for your team and company.

Logo Design for Events

The 411 on Designing Logos for Events

Events management is a fast-growing and exciting industry where a well-designed logo can help propel you ahead. So use your expertise in planning and organizing to craft a logo that will impress your clients and increase your visibility.

To make this happen, your company logo must look professional and confident. You need to show potential customers that they can completely trust and rely on and will be satisfied with your services. This is also your opportunity to project an image of consistency and excellence.

If you’re crafting specific logos, such as those used for charity events, the challenge is to create a logo that stands out and clearly communicates the nature or theme of the event. With an effective design, your logo can help draw attention to the event, boost participation and ensure its overall success.

But whether you need a logo to represent your services or an event, the same guidelines apply. You can use imagery to clearly illustrate the scope of your business or the goal of an event. Icons relating to parties and other celebrations are popular choices. If you specialize in weddings, you can opt for bells, rings, flowers, hearts or a couple’s silhouette. If you’ll beorganizing 5K runs, volleyball tournaments and other sporting events, related graphics can give attendees a sneak peek into what they can expect.

Abstract art will work as well. Just don’t go too far. Keep in mind that your logo has to be relatable and memorable. If people can’t quite figure out what your symbol is or what it has to do with your company, chances are they won’t be able to recall it.

You can also include your business name or a short tag line in the logo. If you are leaning toward a typography-based logo, choose a font that’s eye-catching but clear and readable at any size.

In terms of colors, you can play with bright and bold shades to reflect the industry’s dynamism. An exception would be for somber or formal events, where subdued hues are more appropriate.

Whichever design you choose, remember that a well-thought-out logo can help make your business more approachable and your event more accessible.

Education Logo Ideas

Education Logo Design

How to make an education logo that works

Logos are a must for any educational institution. It is part of their identity—the image they wish to project and promote or have already successfully established. And depending on the design, an effective logo can not only impress their target market but also set them apart from rivals.

This is why your education logo has to look confident, be positive and demonstrate what your school or class focuses on. It should reflect your commitment to excellence and learning. And it needs to be designed carefully with your audience in mind.

You can begin by picking a color scheme. Say you run a preschool or daycare center. Then the colors of your logo must be bright and suggest a playful and fun ambiance. So use red, yellow, royal blue, neon green or similar hues. Although toddlers and young children aren’t necessarily the decision-makers in this scenario, your design should still be kid-friendly.

Font style is another key design element. If you offer tutoring services or manage homeschool groups, opt for more basic and serious or subdued typefaces that reflect your dedication to helping students shine. Classic, sophisticated types would suit private schools with an extensive and prestigious history.

Including a symbol helps a lot too, especially with colleges and universities. In fact, higher educational institutions often rely solely on an emblem as their logo. This makes the selection or design process even more crucial.

For symbols, those that depict a scholarly image are your safest bet as they convey academic excellence. But keep the design traditional as a reminder of your longstanding history. You can also incorporate rectangles, rings and other shapes or forms commonly associated with education.

If you organize cooking classes, book clubs and craft classes, your logo can feature related icons. Graphics can give potential participants a glimpse into what they can expect from the sessions. Catering to kids? Include rainbow or sun illustrations, caricatures of children or books, or any fun and appealing artwork.

As you craft your logo, don’t forget to consider where you plan on using it. Will it look as great on pants and t-shirts as it will on letterheads, notebooks, posters and pens? Yes, the design should print or render well in any size.

It may seem like a lengthy process, but taking the time to conceptualize and build your education logo will yield more effective designs.

Fashion Logo Ideas

Fashion Logo Design

The Makings of Great Fashion and Clothing Logos

Fashion and clothing companies rely largely on their logo to build their brand and reputation. It’s the image that pops in the mind of consumers when they hear or think of a certain designer label. It’s what goes on almost all the apparel and accessories they offer. It’s the face of their business.

So when you see interlinking Cs, you know it’s Chanel—much the same way that interlocking G’s are for Gucci, the letter V on top of L is for Louis Vuitton and the polo player silhouette is for Ralph Lauren.

That means having a great logo helps you find success and stay on top in this industry, whether you specialize in clothing, shoes, purses or hair accessories. But what makes a fashion logo great in the first place?

One is a stylish design. Fashion is a lot about style and attitude. And your logo should reflect that. You can take your cue from many popular brands that simply use their name or the acronym of their name. Set in sophisticated but powerful fonts, such logos always appear clean and crisp. This minimalist look also suits any material or medium, which is essential for fashion lines that feature their logos prominently in their products.

Second, logos need to feel timeless, like they will never run out of style. Chances are you’ll be using your logo for years. You know how fast trends come and go in the fashion world. So stick with designs that won’t lose their appeal and will go well with anything.

Third, your logo must resonate with your target audience. If you design baby clothes, make sure the colors, fonts and images you go for are fun and playful. Or if your selection is mostly kids’ clothes, keep it light and casual. No need for anything fancy or formal.

Finally, consider scalability and versatility. Will your logo be recognizable whether it appears as an icon on your webpage, part of a t-shirt’s design, or on your product tags? Remember your logo has to look great wherever you use it on. Customers must be able to identify and distinguish it and later associate it with your brand. If you’re able to do that, then you’re all good.

Landscaping Logo Ideas

Landscaping Logo Design

{loadposition Logo_Samples_Large}

How to Cultivate a Great Landscaping Logo

Landscaping and floral businesses stand to benefit from having a logo of their own. With an eye-catching and memorable design, you’ll find it easier to set your company apart from competitors. You’ll be able to create a positive first impression with a potential client, which can help you land a big job or order. And previous customers will have something to remember your services by, boosting your chances of being hired for another landscaping project or having your flower shop visited or called up again for another purchase.

But your logo can only make a big impact on your business if it’s designed well enough to portray your identity. The landscaping and floral industries are both visually oriented, so your logo must be visually appealing too.

You can start by deciding on an appropriate color palette. If you are a horticulturist or run a commercial or residential landscaping company, consider green, brown and blue. Green instantly reminds people of plants and gardens and at the same time conveys balance and harmony. Another earth color, brown helps make a logo appear rich and warm while creating an image of reliability. Blue is reminiscent of water or the sky and adds a tranquil touch to any design. For florists, using yellow is also a great way to depict creativity and confidence.

To make your logo even more attractive, you can incorporate nature-related images. For instance, illustrations of trees, branches, leaves, bushes, flowers, fences, walls, stones, rivers, hills and mountains would work well on designs for commercial landscaping businesses. It gives prospective customers a clear picture of the kind of service you offer. Just make sure the artwork on your logo is unique and doesn’t bear similarities to those of your rivals. Personalize it by highlighting your unique selling point or primary competitive advantage. Say landscape architecture is you specialty. You could add architecture icons to make your design distinct.

If you want to add text, choose a font the complements the other visual elements of your logo while reflecting your personality or expertise. Serif typefaces tend to have a professional and traditional feel. Sans serif styles are more clean and modern. Script fonts are associated with creativity and elegance, while decorative versions can give your logo a friendly and unique look.

And of course, your logo has to be as versatile and timeless as it is striking. If you can manage to pull that off, your business will bloom even more.

Tips for Designing Effective Medical and Dental Logos

For medical and dental practices, a logo can shape the way patients perceive their services. You can’t control how people will learn about your business, but you can guarantee a good first impression with a logo that instantly attracts and resonates with potential clients.

This means your design should be unique and relevant. It should project an image of a place managed by caring and competent health care professionals. It needs to reflect your mission and values. And it must help make patients feel that they will be in good hands.

In most cases, it all comes down to the image or symbol you go with. The conventional route is to use an illustration that represents the kind of service the company specializes in. Dentists and orthodontists usually incorporate a molar or toothbrush illustration in their logo, while dialysis centers would use kidney-related graphics.

If the doctor running a particular medical practice is a general physician, icons associated with the industry as a whole would work, such as stethoscopes, surgical masks and scalpels. If you focus on clinical research, you could add a serpent scepter or cross to indicate that you conduct studies in the medical field.

Of course, you can always go abstract, be more playful or inject your personality into the design. Abstract and subtle symbols lend a modern, high-end feel to any logo. You can also integrate the image that embodies your service, but find a more appealing and unique way to showcase it. For instance, if your business boasts state-of-the-art equipment, you could demonstrate this in your logo with an über-contemporary form or pattern or perhaps some 3D art.

Also, don’t underestimate the power of a great font. You can transform your logo from boring to charming with a fun, decorative or personalized typeface. Or you could pair a pre-modern seal with modern serifs to capture the level of sophistication that one can expect from your facilities.

As for colors, it’s best to select hues that people readily think of when they picture the medical and dental fields: red, blue and white. Red is the most obvious choice, as it is the color of blood and the industry’s cross symbol. Blue conveys comfort and suits businesses like chiropractic clinics. White embodies peace and relief, making it a common option among services providing elder care and in-home nursing.

Finally, don’t forget to give your logo a reassuring and inviting feel. The last thing you want is to scare off or intimidate patients. Hospitals, clinics and all other medical facilities are havens and their logos should echo this.

Non-Profit Logo Ideas

Non-Profit Logo Design

Helpful Ideas for Non-Profit and Community Outreach Logos

The most influential non-profit and community outreach organizations in the world boast just as powerful logos that have helped them establish a connection with their audience and garner their support.

The logo is actually the heart of an organization’s visual identity—the first step to building your brand. Yes, branding is necessary for non-profit groups and community outreach centers, big or small. If you want people to be passionate about and loyal to your cause, you need to create a brand that strikes a chord with them. Once you achieve this, you can expect greater awareness, participation and financial aid.

But not all logos are able to evoke an emotional response from or grab the attention of the public. You’ll need an effective and unique design for that. One that is legible and clearly gets your message across. One that is impressive and memorable—a real standout. One that has distinct elements and doesn’t look like anything else out there. One that genuinely reflects your mission and attributes. And one that feels timeless and perpetually fresh and relatable.

Seems like a tall order? With the appropriate typeface, imagery and colors, you could easily make it work.

The font you choose for your organization’s name should match or complement your cause or focus. If you’re taking a serious and straightforward approach with your campaign, stick to thick and capitalized typeface in black for a stronger look. Promoting a community garden? Pick styles with a casual and fun feel. Looking out for the welfare of kids? Child-like typography would be a great fit. Running an online outsourcing group? Think rounded typefaces—they tend to convey friendliness and approachability.

Your choice of imagery must be well thought out too. An iconic figure for non-profit organizations that specialize in providing charity is that of hands, e.g., joined hands, hands in circles and overlapping hands. You can personalize this by adding other graphic elements or using a stylized or abstract version. You can also base your illustration on the nature of your organization like incorporating feet and tire treads for transport-oriented initiatives, a water drop for water-related drives, or a house or roof for campaigns to provide shelter. Christian and Muslim organizations could also add symbols relating to each religion, while groups geared toward specific regions could add an outline or silhouette of their target area, say Africa.

Colors matter a lot as well because of their psychological impact. Use red if you want to convey urgency, power or energy, yellow for youthfulness or optimism, and blue for tranquility. You can also select colors based on your objectives, such as green for natural and healthy solutions or environment-friendly drives.

Once you have decided on the graphic elements you would like for your logo, you can come up with a design that will help you make an even bigger difference in the world.

Entertainment Logo Ideas

Entertainment Logo Design

How to turn entertainment logos into big hits

The entertainment industry may be diverse, but in all genres success depends largely on standing out and getting your name out there. From musicians, bands or DJs looking to book their next gig to artists whose works are displayed in a gallery and actors starring in a theater or improv show, branding is part of the game. And that usually involves having a distinct logo that people can readily associate with you or your company.

But what exactly makes for an effective logo in the entertainment business? For starters, you’ll be taking a different approach than your typical corporate logos, which tend to be formal or serious. Instead think hip, modern, vibrant, stylish and creative—all of which reflect the dynamic and artistic nature of the industry.

Images not only add visual appeal, but can also be used to tell your story. So if you decide to incorporate graphics in your logo, choose illustrations that depict your expertise. Say you’re an event planner specializing in weddings, then go for wedding icons. But if you’re a party planner who arranges mostly birthday celebrations, lean more toward birthday party illustrations. You can also opt for personalized artwork that represents the kind of entertainment you offer and draws in your target audience.

Get as creative and unique as you can with your choice of fonts as well. A simple and classic typeface will do, if the text is meant to accompany an image. But if you plan on using just letters or words as your logo, you need an artistic, eye-catching and memorable font. You can also create your own typeface, injecting as much of your personality or your company’s characteristics in it. Whichever way you choose to go, just remember that the text, above all, must be readable!

As for colors, stick to bold and strong ones. You can even go bright and flashy—it is the entertainment industry after all. Many of today’s logos have touches of orange, red or purple. Dark colors like black and blue will work to, as long as it goes well with the overall look or theme.

You could also take your design up a notch with gradients, shadows, reflections and 3D effects. At the end of the day, what really matters is that your logo makes people smile, captures their attention or reminds them of something that brought them entertainment and amusement.

Health & Fitness Logo Ideas

Health & Fitness Logo Design

How to make a health and fitness logo that works

Health and fitness is a serious matter. And people think extra carefully about any decisions they make that relate to their physical well-being. So if you want to draw in clients, then you’ll need an impressive and clever logo.

Creating one, however, is no simple feat. You actually need to strike a balance between a creative and appealing design and a professional and confident look. Say you run a Pilates studio or a yoga studio, or are a physical therapist. Your logo has to be visually striking but feel subdued and relaxed.

One way you can make this happen is by using appropriate or complementary colors. Top choices in the industry include blue, green, gray and red. Besides conveying a sense of trust and security, such hues are associated with vigor and vitality. They are particularly suited for gym logos, as people who work out with a fitness instructor or trainer seek to feel healthy and strong.

Your safest bet is to stick with one color. If you prefer to combine two, just make sure they blend well together. Contrasting hues are a bit risky, as they could appear to be too bold for sectors that aim to provide clients a soothing and serene experience. So instead of green and red, go for blue and green. Oh and try to keep your color palette to no more than three hues. Too many shades would not fit with the sharp and sleek image you want to project.

In terms of typography, pick out styles that reflect energy and wellness. You can play with artistic fonts, as long as they are not too ornate. Or you could opt for the classic and simple ones like Arial, Times New Roman and Verdana. What’s more important is that your choice of typeface is legible.

Your logo’s symbol must be well-thought-out too, should you decide to include one. Apart from the standard health and fitness icons, many businesses actually incorporate nature-related graphics in their logo to denote their earth-friendly or holistic approach or the natural sources used in their product line. Weight loss experts and nutritionists who design diet programs based on whole foods and organic goods could use such illustrations, as can suppliers of plant-based supplements and vitamins.

None of this will matter if the design is not scaleable or versatile. Remember your logo must look great on any medium for it to effectively represent your brand.
